Bronze, cast and soldered; cast brass.

Designed as four arched gates; the outer arch adorned with a repeating vegetal motif and topped with a pair of pomegranates. The servant light is set on an ornament to the right.

Height: 26 cm. Width: 24.5 cm. Depth: 6 cm. Good condition. Minor blemishes.

Seder plate. Germany, possibly Hanau, [early 20th century].

Silver, repoussé and engraved (marked with German hallmarks, 800, crown and crescent moon – in use from 1888 – and an unidentified maker’s mark, possibly Hanau: fleur-de-lis surmounted by a crown).

Round plate, decorated with floral garlands, grape clusters, and a blank cartouche. In the center, five circular indentations designed to hold five small dishes, each engraved with one of the traditional Seder items: “Zeroah”, “Beitzah”, “Maror”, “Charoset”, “Karpas”. The rim of the plate and the rims of the dishes are decorated with a scalloped repoussé pattern.

Diameter of plate: 24.5 cm; diameter of dishes: 6 cm. Good condition. Minor blemishes.

Passover Seder plate, by Eliezer Aharon Stanetzky (1897-1948, Stanetzky). Jerusalem, [1940s]. Signed: “A. Stanetzky, Beitan for Judaic Art, E.I. Jerusalem” (Hebrew).

White metal, etched, cut and pierced; embroidered velvet fabric.

Plate is composed of four round dishes, connected by three upright columns, and resting on four feet. The upper dish is pierced with six round openings for the Seder dishes, and is decorated with symmetrical etched motifs: grape clusters and vine leaves, wheat stalks, symbols of the Twelve Tribes, the names of the Seder components, and a passage beginning with the words “Ha Lachma Anya” (Hebrew). A velvet curtain encircles the plate, threaded through a wire ring surrounding the upper dish.

Max. height: 18.5 cm. Diameter: 27 cm. Overall good condition. Minor metal stains; some stains and wear to velvet curtain.

Etrog box. [Presumably Palestine or Europe, ca. 19th century].

Wood, covered in fabric; embroidery; white metal.

Etrog box fashioned as a small chest, with a hinged lid and carrying handle affixed to the top. The exterior is entirely covered in purple velvet, embellished with red fabric bands and silver metallic thread embroidery, forming delicate floral motifs, small beads, and sequins. The front is embroidered with the inscription “Pri Etz Hadar” and a pair of birds. Set on four feet.

Height: 18.5 cm. Width: 17 cm. Depth: 12.5 cm. Overall fair-good condition. Wear and minor damage to fabric and embroidery. Interior of the lid lined with later fabric. Two clasps missing from the front.
