Passover Seder plate, by Eliezer Aharon Stanetzky (1897-1948, Stanetzky). Jerusalem, [1940s]. Signed: “A. Stanetzky, Beitan for Judaic Art, E.I. Jerusalem” (Hebrew).
White metal, etched, cut and pierced; embroidered velvet fabric.
Plate is composed of four round dishes, connected by three upright columns, and resting on four feet. The upper dish is pierced with six round openings for the Seder dishes, and is decorated with symmetrical etched motifs: grape clusters and vine leaves, wheat stalks, symbols of the Twelve Tribes, the names of the Seder components, and a passage beginning with the words “Ha Lachma Anya” (Hebrew). A velvet curtain encircles the plate, threaded through a wire ring surrounding the upper dish.

Max. height: 18.5 cm. Diameter: 27 cm. Overall good condition. Minor metal stains; some stains and wear to velvet curtain.
