Pair of Torah finials. [Central Europe, Bohemia or Moravia, 19th century].
Silver, turned, cut, repoussé, and engraved (marked with quality marks "13", and with maker’s marks, the initials "AR").
Torah finials of a type that was widespread in Bohemia and Moravia, as well as in Austria-Hungary (Vienna). Tall cylindrical shafts, each surmounted by a large, almost-spherical openwork crown, and supported on a broad, dome-shaped base adorned in vegetal patterns. Identical dedicatory inscriptions (Hebrew) engraved along the tops of both bases: "Hayyim König".
Height: 26 cm. Diameter at base: 9.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Numerous fractures and soldering repairs to upper crowns. Soldering repairs to suspension rings for bells. Bells missing.
