Pair of Torah finials. Dedication from Aflou, Algeria, 1945.
Silver, cast, pierced and engraved (unmarked).
Pentagonal Torah finials, shaped as a cone narrowing towards the upper edge, standing on a dome-shaped base soldered to a cylindrical leg. All sides decorated identically, with pierced vegetal patterns emerging from a large jug.
Dedicatory inscriptions (identical) engraved on dome-shaped bases and legs: "Consecrated to G-d, donated by the Gemilut Chasadim of Aflou, 1945"; "Produced by the artist Shimon Sallam / President of the Gemilut Chasadim society of Aflou and suburbs".
Height: 32 cm. Maximum width: 8.5 cm. Overall good condition. Warping and minor defects. Fractures and old soldering repairs with silver to one finial.
