Tin box with coloful illustrations. Palestine, [1940s or 50s].
The box is designed like a house with a red roof which has a spring door. Pushing the door sidewise reveals a slit for inserting coins. Out of the slit, a plate appears upon which the coin is placed and upon closing the door, the plate is retracted inside the box and the coin falls into the box. Illustrations of playing children adorn three sides of the box and the fourth side bears emblems representing Zionism and the settlements: a palm, a tractor plowing a field with a rising sun in the background, the Tower of David and a factory.
9X6X12 cm. Fair-good condition. The door at the bottom of the box is bent and cannot be opened. Peeling and rust. Bends.
