Spice container. [Presumably Poland, 19th century].
Silver, cut and repoussé (marked with fineness mark “12”); filigree; parcel-gilt.
Crafted in the form of a tower topped with a large gilded dome, adorned with vegetal motifs and a rooster finial.
The dome is detachable and may have been intended to double as a Havdalah candleholder. The octagonal spice compartment is made entirely of delicate silver filigree panels with floral designs. Set on a round base with a short stem. The initials BR are engraved on the dome.
Height: 22.5 cm. Base diameter: 7.5 cm. Good condition. Minor breaks. Few small silver pieces missing.

Octagonal tower-shaped Spicebox. The spice compartment is decorated with pierced floral motifs set against gilt silver backing. The bell chamber features arched windows, surmounted by a turret with tile-like decoration, a flagpole, and a flag. Set on a short stem and square base.
Height: 25.5 cm. Base width: 7.5 cm. Overall good condition. Minor blemishes. Small piece of silver missing. Loose threading.

Silver, engraved, stamped, and pierced (partially marked with Berlin city hallmark, fineness mark “A”, and partial maker’s mark).
Spicebox in the form of a three-tiered tower. The spice compartment is shaped as a cylindrical lattice, fitted with a small hinged door. Topped with a pointed turret, flagpole, and flag.
Height: 27.5 cm. Base diameter: 5.5 cm. Overall good condition. Flag and pole detached and broken; minor bends and flaws.
2. Spicebox. [Presumably Germany, 19th century].
Silver, cast, engraved, and pierced (marked with fineness mark “12” and partial maker’s mark, “A. Epe--”).
Goblet-shaped container, set on a tall stem with a square base. Fitted with a detachable cylindrical latticework cover topped with a tall pointed turret.

Three mezuzah cases (“jitah del mezuzah”). [Algeria, Morocco or vicinity, early decades of the 20th century].
Silver sheet, cut and repoussé, nailed onto wooden boards.
Three mezuzah cases of similar design: each centered with a seven-branched menorah, topped by the inscription “Shaddai”. Two of the plaques feature additional Temple implements, and one includes a pair of palms (Hamsa).
The third plaque slightly differs in design, with a pair of architectural columns topped with tree- or shrub-like floral motifs; this plaque also contains a mezuzah scroll affixed to its reverse and has decoratively cut edges.
Height: 22-24 cm, width: 15-16 cm. Condition varies. Two items with some missing silver sheet pieces.

Mezuzah case by Ludwig Yehuda Wolpert (1900-1981). [New York, ca. 1960s]. Signed on reverse: "Wolpert".
Sterling silver, cut and pierced; ink on parchment.
Designed as a pair of Ark doors. Rectangular base with two holes for affixing to a doorpost; removable concave front inscribed in sewn Hebrew letters, in Wolpert’s distinctive style: "Barukh atah bevo'akha uvarukh atah betsetekha".
Cylindrical shaft in center for housing the parchment scroll, with small window revealing the word "Shaddai". The mezuzah parchment is written in Ashkenazi scribal hand (ca. mid-20th century).
Ludwig Yehuda Wolpert (1900-1981), Israeli-American designer and silversmith, a pioneer of the modernist style in Jewish ceremonial art. Born near Heidelberg to an Orthodox family of Eastern European origin, he studied sculpture and metalwork at the Frankfurt School of Arts, influenced by Bauhaus principles and the modernist designs of his teacher Christian Dell.
In 1933, following the Nazi rise to power, he emigrated to Palestine. In 1935, he joined the faculty of the New Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts in Jerusalem, where he co-directed the metalwork department with David Heinz Gumbel.
Wolpert’s work is distinguished by its synthesis of modernist silversmithing with Hebrew typography and biblical texts. In 1956, he moved to the U.S., where he headed the Tobe Pascher Workshop for Modern Jewish Art at the Jewish Museum, New York.

1-3. Three silver-sheet amulets of similar design: a central heart inscribed "Shaddai", surrounded by vegetal motifs; a flame-like ornament at the top and an angel-like ornament at the bottom (one of the amulets features an additional pair of angels, flanking the flame). Two mounted of the amulets are set leather bases covered with red velvet, with suspension rings.
4-5. Two silver-sheet amulets of similar design: heart-shaped, with the word "Shaddai" at the center and a flame-like ornament at top.
6. Cast silver amulet in architectural design, engraved with the text of the Priestly Blessing ("Birkat Kohanim").
Size Varies, 8X4 to 18X11.5 cm. Overall good condition. Minor dents and breaks to sheet-silver amulets.

Round gold amulet, containing a round parchment slip inscribed with initial letters of the Ana Bekoach piyyut and various names for protection, set beneath glass. Gold frame is set with turquoise stones. A pin affixed to the reverse for attaching to clothing.
Diameter: 3.5 cm. One turquoise stone lacking.

Gold, engraved.
Round gold amulet, engraved with initial letters of the Ana Bekoach piyyut, names of angels, a Star of David enclosing the word “Zion”, and the owner's name: "Rachima bat Nazdari".

Five amulets. [Near East, Iran / Kurdistan and vicinity, late 19th to early 20th century].
Silver, cut, soldered, repoussé and engraved; glass; silver coins; tin bead.
1. Large amulet in the form of a three-dimensional rectangular frame with clipped corners, featuring a depiction of a LeMenatze'ach menorah and the verse “Shiviti Hashem lenegdi tamid” inscribed on parchment or paper, decorated in color. Russian silver coins from the 1860s suspended from the bottom of the amulet.
2. Hexagonal amulet case, inscribed (see Hebrew description).
3. Double-sided amulet, in the form of a large round pendant; one side inscribed with protective verses and attributes, the other with a personal dedication.
4. Small amulet in the form of a rectangular pendant, inscribed with the “Priestly Blessing” and the name “Moshe ben Chaim” (possibly of North African origin).
5. Woman’s arm amulet, inscribed with various verses and an animal-like motif, dated (?): 5612 [1852]. Includes a cotton thread and red-painted metal bead.

Reddish cardboard box. Front with printed label (in Hungarian) bearing association details and illustrations of its activities aiding the sick.

2. Charity box of the "A Budapesti Igaz Tóra és Jesivákat Támogató Egylet" (Budapest Association for Supporting Torah and Yeshivot). [Budapest, after 1927].
Silver-colored metal box, plaque in the front depicting two yeshiva students bent over an open Talmud, above the inscription: "Heed the children of the poor, for from them Torah shall go forth". Surrounding inscription with the association's details (Hungarian).
Approx. 10X9.5X5 cm.
3. Charity box of the Association of Jewish Charity Institutions. [Hungary, first half of 20th century].
Tin box, decorated on all sides with vegetal and geometric designs. Printed inscriptions on sides with the association’s goals (Hebrew and Hungarian): "Charity for supporting widows, orphans, and elderly poor of our city"; "Charity for providing medicine for poor and unfortunate sick"; "Charity for elementary Torah schools and education of the youth".
Approx. 10X12.5X8.5 cm.
4. Charity box of "Országos Magyar Zsidó Segítő Akció – OMZSA" (National Hungarian Jewish Aid Organization). Budapest, [after 1939].

Sheet copper, stamped.
Designed and produced by the Jewish-German sculptor Leopold Fleischhacker (1882-1946) in the years preceding World War I.
Front bears the inscription “קרן קימת לישראל / Jüdischer National Fonds” and a Star of David. Side panels decorated with memorial lamps in relief; back panel decorated with grape cluster motifs.
Height: 15 cm. Width: 10 cm, depth: 8 cm. Overall good condition. Minor dents. Small blemish to one foot. Locked; without key.

“Shield of Judah Maccabee” – challenge trophy of the “Maccabi” sports club in Eretz Israel. Made by the “Oholiab” workshop of artist Salamon Yedidya-Seelenfreund, Jerusalem, [1923]. Marked: “Oholiab, Jerusalem” [Henrew].
Silver, repoussé and engraved; silver rivets; painted wood.
Round silver sheet affixed with rivets to an octagonal wooden base. In the center: high-relief image of a nude athlete throwing a javelin, surrounded by the inscription: “Challenge Trophy for the most outstanding company in sports and gymnastics among all Hebrew companies in Eretz Israel” [Hebrew]. The border features interlaced Hebrew monograms and various geometric patterns; at the top, the Maccabi movement emblem and the inscription: “Shield of Judah the Maccabee – a healthy mind in a healthy body” [Hebrew].
Additional silver plaque mounted on the wooden base, engraved with a dedicatory inscription: “Presented for the first time at the track and field competitions held on Hol HaMoed Sukkot, 17 Tishrei 5684 [1923], in Jerusalem, by Mrs. Miriam Fels, Honorary Vice President of the ‘Bnei Binyamin’ organization in Eretz Israel”.
Miriam (Mary) Fels (1863-1930), German-born American Jewish philanthropist. After her husband’s death in 1914, she dedicated her fortune to public, social, and Zionist causes. She was a major supporter of the Zionist movement and of Jewish settlement in Eretz Israel, and served as Honorary Vice President of the “Bnei Binyamin” organization, which supported agricultural settlers in the Jewish colonies of Eretz Israel.
Diameter of silver sheet: approx. 25 cm, dedication plaque: 11.5X3 cm, diameter of wooden base: 36 cm. Good-fair condition. Minor bends and blemishes to silver plaque. Cracks and breaks to wooden base. Two brass suspension hooks affixed to the top corners of the wooden base.
