Spicebox. [Presumably Germany or France, first half of the 19th century].
Silver, pierced and engraved (marked with French import marks "ET", in use 1864-1893); parcel-gilt.
Octagonal tower-shaped Spicebox. The spice compartment is decorated with pierced floral motifs set against gilt silver backing. The bell chamber features arched windows, surmounted by a turret with tile-like decoration, a flagpole, and a flag. Set on a short stem and square base.

Height: 25.5 cm. Base width: 7.5 cm. Overall good condition. Minor blemishes. Small piece of silver missing. Loose threading.
