Esther scroll on original wooden roller, with leaf of the megillah blessings. [Central or Western Europe, late 18th or early 19th century].
Ink on parchment; wood.
Small-format Esther scroll, inscribed on seven parchment sheets sewn one to the other (+ one small blank parchment sheet sewn to the roller); 49 columns of text, 11 lines per column, with tagin on designated letters. Accompanied by a matching parchment leaf inscribed with the blessings recited before and after the reading of the Megillah.
Rolled on its original roller, typical of scrolls originating in Central and Western Europe, particularly the Netherlands.
Parchment height: 6 cm. Overall good condition. Some stains, primarily at the beginning of the first sheet. Minor splitting at seams. Lacking tying ribbon at beginning of first sheets. Handle height: 26.5 cm. Good condition, minor cracks.

Large-format Esther scroll, written on eight light brown gevil parchment sheets; 24 columns, 19 lines per column. Occasional tagin on designated letters.
A high-quality scroll, with its first two sheets sewn to green satin fabric. Rolled on the original decorative wooden handle. Accompanied by a separate sheet of blessings, containing the blessings recited before and after the reading of the megillah. At the end of the blessings appears the scribe’s signature: “MiYad Yitzchak Sofer”.
Parchment height: 32.5 cm. Overall good condition. Some seams between sheets partially unraveled; tears and wear to edges of first satin sheet; one fabric strap lacking. Handle height: 53 cm. Some breaks and losses. Blessings sheet: 32X21 cm. Good condition.

Ink on parchment. Large format. Placed in leather-coated cardboard case. 11 columns (over 3 sheets). 42 lines per sheet.
Esther scroll in neat Stam script [Ashkenazic Beit Yosef script], with fine, large decorative serifs (Tagim) at tops of columns and at the ten sons of Haman.
Written in HaMelekh format (most columns begin with the word HaMelekh).
Placed in a cardboard case covered in leather, with embossed gilt inscription, presumably the name of the scroll's owner.
Height of parchment: 47 cm. Good-fair condition. Creases and wear. Fading of ink. Old leather-coated cardboard case, with tears and cracks.

Silver, cast and engraved (marked with fineness mark “12”); filigree; parcel-gilt; glass and gemstone insets; ink on parchment.
“HaMelekh” Esther scroll (most columns begin with the word HaMelekh), written on four parchment sheets sewn one to the other; 17 text columns, 22 lines per column, with tagin on designated letters.
Housed in a large cylindrical parcel-gilt silver case, wrapped in two wide bands of openwork silver filigree in geometric and vegetal designs, set with colorful glass stones and turquoise cabochons. The case is topped with a silver crown and additional vegetal ornamentation. A rectangular silver pull-bar with a twisted silver strap is sewn to the beginning of the first sheet.
Parchment height: 20.5 cm. Overall good condition. Minor staining, creases and wear, mostly to the first sheet. Case height (including handle): 44 cm. Overall good condition. Minor blemishes and bends; gilding worn. Placed in a later cylindrical cardboard case covered in fabric.

Decorated Esther scroll housed in a silver case. [Greece or vicinity, 19th century].
Silver, repoussé and engraved; silver, cast and turned (unmarked); ink and paint on parchment.
Decorated Esther scroll, inscribed on four parchment sheets sewn one to the other, 17 columns of text, usually 22 lines per column.
The scroll is decorated throughout in yellow-gold, purple, and pink tones: each text column is enclosed within a fine yellow-gold rectangular frame, separated by narrow strips adorned with delicate vegetal and geometric designs. The opening margin of the scroll features a similar ornamental design.
The scroll is housed in a cylindrical silver case decorated with various motifs, including a seven-branched menorah, the Tablets of the Law, a jug, a flowering branch, and vegetal patterns. The case has bulbous base and lid, with a tall floral ornament at the top, and a wide silver clasp with matching decoration and a small suspension ring.
Height of parchment: 12 cm, height of case (including handle): 35.5 cm. Overall good condition. One leaf ornament at top of the case is broken and partially missing.

Silver, cast, turned, repoussé and engraved (marked with Austro-Hungarian fineness marks in use between 1886-1922, and maker’s mark “J.V” in a rectangular frame); ink on parchment.
“HaMelekh” scroll (most columns begin with the word “HaMelekh”), written on four parchment sheets sewn one to the other; 21 columns of text, 21 lines per column; with Tagim (decorative crownlets over designated letters).
Housed in a high-quality cylindrical silver case, decorated with repeating vegetal motifs. A central cartouche is engraved with the monogram “AUS”; crown shaped ornament at the top of the case, surmounted by a floral finial; plain rectangular silver pull bar with a small rotating handle (for locking).
Height of parchment: 14 cm. Good condition. Some staining, mostly to final sheet. Height of case (including handle): 34 cm. Good condition. One floral element missing from upper ornament. Minor warping.

Silver, cast and engraved (marked with a small Romanian fineness mark – a crown above the letter J in circular frame, in use from 1906); gilt; ink on parchment.
HaMelekh Esther scroll (most columns beginning with the word “HaMelekh”), inscribed on four parchment sheets sewn one to the other; 15 columns of text, usually 24 lines per column; tagin on designated letters, and on the letter Heh of the word “HaMelekh” in the opening lines.
Housed in an ornate, parcel-gilt silver case, engraved with the owner’s name: “Isak I. Cohen”. Fitted with a curved handle and a rectangular silver pull bar.
Inscription at the beginning of the first sheet records the donation of the scroll to the Sephardic synagogue in Craiova (Romania). Additional handwritten note at the end of the last sheet, signed and dated Vienna, 1911 (?).
Parchment height: 13 cm. Overall good condition. Minor stains and wear. Slight splitting at sheet seams. Case height (including handle): 29.5 cm. Good condition. Minor blemishes.

Silver, cast, turned, engraved, and pierced (unmarked); niello; ink on parchment.
Scroll inscribed on three parchment sheets sewn one to the other (+ one small decorated parchment sheet pasted to the beginning of the first large sheet, and an additional small sheet sewn at the end of the scroll); 27 text columns, usually 13 lines per column.
A smaller, decorated parchment sheet is sewn to the beginning of the first scroll sheet, with vertically written blessings recited before the Megillah reading, in red ornamental vegetal design. A small, similarly decorated piece is sewn to the end of the scroll, bearing the opening words of the blessing “Harav et riveinu”, recited after the reading.
Housed in a cylindrical silver case, pierced and decorated with niello vegetal motifs. The upper lid is engraved in Hebrew: "Megillat Esther Amalkah [!]"; the bottom lid is inscribed in Cyrillic: “Letter of Queen Esther.”
Matching silver handle, topped with a ball and floral ornament.
Parchment height: 7 cm. Fair condition. Beginning of the first and blessings sheets are torn, worn, and partially missing. Tear at the end of the third parchment sheet. Final blessings panel rolls with difficulty. Case height (including handle): 24 cm. Good condition. Metal strip attached to the first sheet is not original or may be partially missing.
