About 210 photographs by photographers of "The Matson Photo Service", "Palphot" and other photographers, arranged in three albums. Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Haifa and other places in Palestine (some photographs from other places), [ca. 1930s-40s].
The album includes: Numerous photographs of Jerusalem and its sites (Tower of David, Western Wall, Dome of the Rock, Allenby Square, Generali Building, YMCA building, and more), photographs of Tel-Aviv (Rothschild Boulevard, Mugrabi Cinema, the Promenade), photographs of Haifa ("Hadar" neighborhood, the bay, Herzl Street), numerous photographs of Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee, Jaffa port, Safed, Grave of Rambam, Rachel's Tomb, two aerial photographs of Palestine, and more.
Also appearing in the albums are photographs of British soldiers, a number of postcards with photographs of vessels and about 30 colorful cards with photographs of sites in Italy.
The photographs are arranged in three albums, most of them are stamped on the back with ink-stamp: "The Matson Photo Service" and a small number are stamped: "Appr, Milit, Photogr, no. 128, Copyright by Palphot". Some of the photographs are titled by hand on the back or on stickers on the album leaves (in English). A few photographs appear in more than one copy.
Size and condition vary, average size: approx. 9X6 cm. Good-fair overall condition. Slight damages. Stains, creases, cracks and lacking corners to a small part of the photographs. Some photographs are attached to the album leaves with adhesive tape. Two albums are bound in leather bindings; a plaque with a relief of Rachel's Tomb is mounted on the binding of one album.
