Three Bedouin necklaces. Yemen, [first half of 20th century].
Silver, filigree and granulation; coral beads and other beads.
1. Ornate necklace composed of five squares decorated in filigree and granulation, and connected one to the other by sets of five strings adorned with red coral-like beads, and with silver beads. Amulet case dangling from middle square, from which, in turn, three decorated pendants are suspended. Approx. 40X11 cm.
2. Necklace of the "Kirdan" type. Consists of a braided chain from which 24 conical pendants, decorated with flowers made in silver thread, silver disks, bells, and red beads are suspended. Approx. 30X5 cm.
3. Necklace composed of tiny silver pendants decorated with silver fruit-like and flower-like granules, and with coral beads. 42X2 cm.
