Stone memorial lamp. [Produced by detainees in Cyprus detention camps?, second half of the 1940s].
Gypsum rock, chiseled, painted, and engraved; wood, sawed and painted.
Square stone plaque, with rounded bottom corners, and with two candleholders just above left and right bottom corners. Hebrew inscription engraved over black background: "In memory of the Fallen of Riga / murdered by the enemies of our people." A Star of David, painted white, appears beneath the inscription, between the two candleholders.
10X9.5 cm. Maximum thickness: 4.5 cm. Attached to a 13X17 cm wooden base. Overall good condition. Minor damage.
