Silver Goblet with Cover – Berlin, 19th Century – Dedicatory Inscription from Wolsztyn Community

Silver goblet with matching cover. Berlin, 19th century; dedicatory inscription dated 1841.
Silver, turned, repoussé, engraved and cast. With hallmark of Berlin (apparently letter "I"), Berlin standard mark, and maker's mark.
Goblet supported by a shaft (connected with screw and disc; non-original), with matching cover. The base is decorated with a repeating strapwork pattern with tiny hearts between loops; the shaft and bowl are decorated with patterns of acanthus leaves, rocailles, flowers and checkers; a ridged disc connects shaft to bowl. The goblet cover is decorated in like manner, and is topped by a bud ornament.
A dedicatory inscription around the base of the goblet declares it to be a gift of thanks from the Wolsztyn (Wollstein) community.

Height (including cover): 26.5 cm. Diameter of base: 8.5 cm. Diameter of rim: 9.5 cm. Good condition. Minor warping to goblet bowl and cover. Rust to screw and disc connecting base to shaft.
