Decorated silver binding (without book). [Italy, 19th century (after 1815)].
Silver, repoussé, engraved and cast (marked four times with Rome city mark, in use from 1815 onward).
Ornate silver binding, decorated with vegetal motifs. Family coat of arms are featured on both sides of the cover: at center of the front cover, a pitcher pouring water into a basin – the coat of arms of the Levi family; and at center of the back cover, a bird holding a branch in its beak, standing atop a mountain inscribed with the letter A – possibly the coat of arms of the Artom family. Pair of matching cast clasps.
Height: 14 cm. Max. width: 9.5 cm, spine width: 5.5 cm. Good condition.
