The Jerusalem American Land Company, a small Zionist-American firm, purchased lands in the vicinity of Jaffa's railway station, near the Rehavia neighborhood in Jerusalem, and on Mt. Carmel; it was liquidated in 1929, in the wake of the economic crisis that hit Palestine (which came to be known as "the Fourth Aliyah crisis").
