Shanah Tovah letter from Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Brooklyn, New York, Elul 1951.

Typewritten on the Rebbe's official stationery, with his signature: "M.Schneerson"; with a line added by hand.
The letter was sent approximately half a year after the Rebbe assumed leadership of Chabad, to his personal secretary R. Nissan Mindel, wishing him a Ketivah VaChatimah Tovah for a Shanah Tovah.
Addressed to R. Chaim Shalom HaLevi Segal in Jerusalem with a blessing for a Ketivah VaChatimah Tovah for a Shanah Tovah.
At the end of the letter, the Rebbe added by hand the words: "…and success in your endeavors, of course including your private affairs".
This letter has not been published in the Rebbe's Igrot Kodesh.

The recipient of the letter, R. Nissan Mindel (1912-1999), secretary of the Rebbe Rayatz of Lubavitch and later of his son-in-law the Lubavitcher Rebbe. In winter 1940, he was one of the few to accompany the Rebbe Rayatz on the ship that left Nazi-occupied Europe for the United States. He served for over 50 years as head secretary of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch and member of Agudat Chassidei Chabad and Machaneh Yisrael. He was also involved in Kehot Publication Society. He authored and edited dozens of Chabad books in English and Yiddish.
