Decorated parchment ketubah. Mantua, Italy, 4th Kislev 5514 [November 30, 1753].
Ink on paper.
Ketubah on rectangular parchment sheet, entirely decorated in micrography composed of verses from Shir HaShirim, written alternately in three colors. At the top of the ketubah is a decoration shaped as a large crown, with two ribbons with verses of blessing on the sides. Signatures of witnesses on edges: Gur Aryeh son of Binyamin Finzi and Aharon son of Yosef Baruch Cases the physician (rabbis of Mantua).
46X41 cm. Fair condition. Stains, some dark, affecting text and decorations. Open tears, mainly to bottom margins, professionally restored.
