Pair of Torah finials. Morocco, [early 20th century].

Six horseshoe-arch-shaped windows are pierced into the sides of each finial, and each window is encircled by engraved vegetal patterns. Each finial bears a dome-shaped cap surmounted by a circle of hooked silver rods. This circle is in turn surmounted by an ornament in the shape of a stylized flower bud. The finials are supported on tall cylindrical shafts, gently tapering upward, with patterns roughly matching those on the bodies, on top of bases that broaden laterally.
Six long chains with cast pendants shaped like fans at their ends dangle from each finial (one chain missing). Dedicatory inscriptions (Hebrew) are engraved onto a band situated between the body and shaft of each finial:
"Freha Amoyal".
"Freha Amoyal".
Height: 28 cm. Maximal width: 6.5 cm. Overall good condition. Missing chain, ring, and pendant. Slight warping and minor blemishes. Silver band wrapped around base of one shaft, but missing from other shaft.
