Pair of Torah finials. [Hoorn], the Netherlands, 1917.
Silver, cast, pierced and stamped (marked with maker’s mark J. van Straten, active in Hoorn 1901-1938; Dutch date-letter H – 1917; and Dutch fineness mark); gilt.
Finials, in the form of three-tiered towers, tapering toward the top. Each finial is topped with a crown and surmounted by a spherical and a conical ornament.
Dedicatory inscription engraved on the stem of one finial:
“Thanks to the Lord, who redeemed my two sons from a perilous sword".

Height: 42 cm. Max. width: 9 cm. Overall good condition. Minor blemishes and warping. Bells missing from the upper tiers of both finials.
