Hanukkah lamp. [Marrakesh, Morocco, early 20th century].
Brass sheet, cut, repoussé, engraved, and punched.
Arch-shaped back plate, adorned in rich, symmetrical vegetal patterns, with a large arabesque at center. Side panels, adorned with matching patterns, attached with hinges, enabling them to be opened and closed. Back plate surmounted by flower-shaped ornament, with suspension ring inserted through it. Row of rectangular oil fonts, with pinched, pointed spouts for the wicks, is suspended by two pins above the drip pan. Small, square aperture for (missing) servant light situated near left edge of back plate.
Height: 38 cm. Width: 24.5 cm. Depth: 8 cm. Overall good condition. Loose hinges, and loose attachment of row of oil fonts. Missing pins at attachment of row of oil fonts, and loose rivet. Minor warping.
