1-2. Two commemorative medals (different metals) issued by the Victorian Department of Education, commemorating Anzac Day – a memorial day commemorating all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations". Australia, 1918.
Obverse: Figure of an Australian soldier and the legend "Honor to the A.I.F". On the bottom appear the signatures "S&S" (Stokes and Sons), H.H. (Harry Harvey). Reverse: A scroll decorated with branches inscribed with the battle zones: Galipoli, France and Palestine. On the margins appears the legend "E.V.D., Anzac day, 1918".
Diameter: 25 mm. Suspension loop.
3. "Yehudah Hamishtachreret" (Liberated Judea) medal. Obverse: a palm tree and a woman undoing her chains while a Roman soldier escapes. On the bottom – the legend "Yehudah Hamishtachreret"(Liberated Judea). Reverse: Star of David and the legend "Lamitnadvim BaAm, Palestine, 1918". Identical medals, made of silver, were awarded in 1918 to Jewish Brigade soldiers for their service.
