Two paper items of a Jewish-Polish refugee – David (Borisowitz) Hanin – who escaped to Shanghai. Shanghai, 1938-1939.
1. Identity card – Certificat de Residence Tenant, Lieu de piece d'identite – issued by the municipal administration of the French Quarter of Shanghai (Concession Francaise de Changhai), in Hanin's name. Issued on February 19, 1938.
14 cm. Good condition. Traces of gluing on the outside of the certificate.
2. A letter typewritten on the stationery of the "Shanghai Ashkenazi Jewish Communal Association" from December 1939, confirming that David Hanin, son of Boris Hanin and Rachel Schwartz-Hanin, was born in Vilnius on October 16, 1912.
