Large collection of 40 early lithographs by Godefroy Engelmann (1788-1839). [Paris, 19th century].
The collection comprises various lithographs from the book Voyage dans le Levant en 1817 et 1818 by Baron de Forbin (Paris, 1819), depicting landscapes and sites throughout Jerusalem: the city gates, the Jewish Quarter, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Tomb of the Kings, and more. Signed and titled in the plate (French).
One hand-colored lithograph.
40 lithographs (some in several copies). Size varies: approx. 28X20.5 to 42X29 cm. Overall good condition. Stains. Tears to some leaves, not affecting prints.
