Four saucers by the artist Heinrich Schwed [Munich, 1920s].
Copper, fired and stamped; silver-coated.
Inscriptions in Hebrew unless otherwise indicated.

1. "To the Bride and Groom", encircled by various greetings. At center, the last verses of the liturgical poem "El Adon Kol Hama’asim". Marked: "Chayyim ben Mordekhai HaLevi".

2. "Of Passover". Includes narrative of the "Four Sons" from the Passover Haggadah, along with other excerpts from the Haggadah. Marked: "Chayyim ben Mordekhai HaLevi".

3. "Havdalah". Marked with initials "HS".

4. "Pray for the well-being of Jerusalem" (Psalms 122:6) / "Zion". Marked with initials "HS/M".

Heinrich Schwed (1880-1962), native of Reichmannsdorf, Germany. In 1924, established an emporium for handmade objects in Munich, alongside a workshop for creating objects such as these. Schwed continued producing decorative plates, commercial advertisements, and other items until 1937, when his business was banned by the Nazi authorities and he himself departed Germany with his family, finding refuge in Argentina.

Diameter: 11 cm. Overall good condition. Slight wear and minor blemishes. Copper hanger soldered onto reverse of Passover saucer.
