Decorated parchment ketubah. Venice, Italy, 10th Adar II 5546 [March 10, 1786].
Ink and paint on parchment.
Ketubah on rectangular parchment sheet, with upper edges cut into a decorative pattern. Upper third decorated with many illustrations including a large fruit tree, smaller trees, flowers of various kinds, houses, birds of various species, a jug and a dog; bottom two thirds decorated with architectural pattern.
The signatures of the groom and his father (as guarantor) in Latin characters, and signatures of witnesses (including R. "Avraham son of R. Yitzchak Pacifico" – a yeshiva dean of Venice).

45X71 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains and fading of ink and paint. Some tears, mainly to margins, professionally restored.
