Circumcision knife. [Presumably Germany or environs, late 18th or early 19th century].
Silver (unmarked); steel; polished agate.
The handle (hilt) is crafted from faceted, polished agate, set into a cylindrical silver mount with scalloped edges. The silver is engraved with the name of the owner,
“Leibel bar Yitzchak”, and the Hebrew acronym for the verse “Ezri Me’Im Hashem Oseh Shamayim Va’Aretz” (Psalms 121:2).
