Chanukah lamp. [Morocco, probably Marrakesh, early 20th century].
Brass sheet, repoussé, embossed and engraved.
Back side decorated with embossed repoussé circles, inspired by decorated Dutch Chanukah lamps. A large Star of David is sawed in the center, topped with the shamash. Other decorations (engraved) in vegetal patterns. The row of oil fonts hangs over a rectangular drip pan. Two matching side panels, with wavy edges. Suspension ring.
Height: 25.5 cm. Width: 17.5 cm. Depth: 5.5 cm. Overall good condition. Fracture approx. 6 cm long and old soldering repair to back side. Minor fracture and soldering repairs to one side panel. Punctures to back side as a result of old joining of oil fonts row.
