Over 390 photographs of important sites throughout Jerusalem, by photographers of the Bonfils family, [Second half of the 19th century].
Large and varied collection of photographs, mostly in large format (some appearing in several copies), depicting views of Jerusalem and its environs: the Western Wall, Temple Mount, the Tomb of King David, Damascus Gate, Hezekiah’s Pool, Robinson’s Arch, Jaffa Gate, Damascus Gate, Golden Gate, and many other sites. The collection also includes portraits of the city’s residents – Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
Most photographs signed in the plate: "Bonfils", many also titled in the plate. Many photographs mounted on cardboard.
Over 390 photographs. Average size: 22X28 cm. Overall good condition. Stains, wear and blemishes. Minor dampstains to several photographs. Minor tears to some photographs.
