Tikun Leil Shavuot and Hoshana Rabba with Tehillim – Amsterdam, After 1648 – Spanish Edition for Marranos – Rare

Orden delo que se melda en Noches de Sebuot Y Osaana Raba. Amsterdam: [Immanuel Benveniste, 17th century; after 1648]. Spanish.
Study regimen for nights of Shavuot and Hoshana Rabba, with Spanish translation of entire Book of Tehillim. The title page states that the book includes Mishnah, Gemara and kabbalah; however, a note on the last page explains that these passages were replaced with the Book of Tehillim due to their difficulty for an audience not familiar with Hebrew.
Printed for charitable organization Hebra de Abi Ietumim in Amsterdam, established 1648. Impressive architectural title page (woodcut), produced by artist Christoph van Sichem (monogram "CVS" at base of right pillar). Printer's device of Immanuel Benveniste.
Seventeenth- and eighteenth-century Amsterdam was home to a large Sephardi community. Many of its members were descendants of Marranos who emigrated from Spain and Portugal a century after the expulsion. The present book was printed for the members of this community who were not familiar with the Hebrew language.
