"Kishut Ivri" [Hebrew Ornament], a small collection of drawings by Shlomo Yedidya- Seelenfreund, collected by his friends and associates to mark twenty-five years of his Hebrew artistic work, 1899-1924.
The artist Shlomo Yedidya Seelenfreund (Hungary 1875 – Tel Aviv 1961) developed a unique style of Hebrew ornament – Ornamenting the square Hebrew letter.
The booklet before us was published to mark twenty-five years of Seelenfreund's artistic work and gathers dozens of pictures of his works of art – various examples of monograms, ornaments made of entwined letters, and more. At the beginning of the booklet, there are letters by some of his friends, including the poet Dr. Yosef Patai, the author and translator Mordechai Avi-Shaul (who was Seelenfreund's son-in-law) and others.
On the title page there is a handwritten Hebrew dedication, presumably by the author and translator Mordechai Avi-Shaul: "To our friend the artist H. Blum in Jerusalem, Avi=Shaul".
30 pp, 24.5 cm. Good condition. A few stains and creases. Tears and open tears to the margins. Stamps on the cover. Creases and small tears to the cover and spine.

A catalogue of etchings by E.M. Lilien, with many photographs of his works of art. At the beginning of the book is a short introduction by Edward J. Bing and at its end is an index and price list of the etchings.
80, [2] pp, 28.5cm. Good condition. Dark endpapers. On one of the front endpapers, a bookplate of Julius Nathansohn, designed by Lilien. Handwriting and markings on many pages. Bound, with no cover, in an elegant hard binding with a leather spine (not original).

Enclosed is a reproduction of a letter sent by Bialik to Budko (Hamburg, 1923) referring to the works of art before us.
Four woodcuts: approx. 17x12 cm (leaves: approx. 22x15c m). Good overall condition. Each one of the leaves is set in a passe-partout (with tissue guards).

A portfolio with 11 plates of reproductions of woodcuts by Arthur Kolnik – characters from the stories of I.L. Peretz, Shalom Aleichem, A. Lutzky, Moyshe Kulbak, Moyshe Nadir and M.L. Halpern. The portfolio also contains an original woodcut by Kolnik – a portrait of the Jewish-Romanian actor Hertz Grosbard (1895-1994).
Copy no. 86 of a deluxe edition of 100 copies. Numbered and signed by Kolnik on the colophon.
