Miniature Esther scroll housed in decorated silver case. [Probably Palestine, early decades of the 20th century].
Silver, cut (unmarked); filigree; glass stone; ink on parchment.
Esther scroll inscribed in minute script on 5 sheets of parchment sewn one to the other; text of Book of Esther arranged in 36 columns, with 11 rows per column. "Tagim" (decorative "crownlets") over designated letters.
Housed in miniature silver case decorated in silver thread, with decorations covering body and dome-shaped cap and base; and with blank shield-like medallion on front. Short silver shaft-handle. A rectangular silver filigree pull bar, inlaid with a purple glass stone, is sewn onto the first parchment sheet.

Height of parchment sheets: 2.7 cm. Height of case (incl. handle): 9.5 cm. Overall good condition. Minor stains and blemishes to leading edge of first parchment sheet. Slight tears and open tears to fourth sheet.
