Silver, repoussé and engraved; glass and glass beads; other beads.
1. Necklace with three six-sided amulet cases and pendant. Middle amulet case, larger than other two, with engraved Persian (Farsi) inscription, and with colored beads and small pendants suspended from bottom. Upper, middle pendant open and hollow; set with turquoise stone, with Persian inscription, and decorated with images of birds on one side, and with vegetal patterns and image of human face on other side. Bottom section here also with suspended colored beads and small pendants. Approx. 20X48 cm. Some of bead chains torn. Missing or detached beads.
2. Necklace with three square amulet cases, set with glass beads and red, crescent-shaped glass pieces. Chain covered with metal thread and colored bead ornaments. Approx. 60X8.5 cm.
3. Rectangular amulet case (to be suspended on chain), with glass bead and glass ornaments. Bells suspended from bottom. 6.5X9 cm.

Silver, repoussé and engraved; filigree, granulation, and niello; turquoise stones and beads.
1. Elegant amulet case. [Tashkent or Samarkand]. With vegetal and geometric patterns, some in niello, with Arabic inscriptions, and set with small turquoise stones. Dated (on cover) 1335 (= 1917 CE) according to the Muslim calendar. Missing stones.
2. Amulet case decorated with gilt crescents. Dated (on plaque on front) 1330 (= 1912 CE) according to the Muslim calendar. With hinges with removable pins on either side.

1. Triangular central pendant flanked by two smaller triangular pendants, all with silver thread work. Three pendants connected by four chains, with thin, cut droplet ("boteh" or paisley) shaped ornaments suspended from them. Approx. 60X11 cm.
2. Chain composed of flower-shaped links, with each link consisting of four small rings. Suspended from chains are three pendants in the form of stylized, three-dimensional half-moons (or baskets), open in their upper parts, with three bells dangling from each pendant; and four pendants inlaid with red glass beads with star-and-crescent symbols. 70X5 cm.

2-3. Two three-dimensional pendants, open in their upper or rear parts. [Kurdistan? Iran? Afghanistan?]. Larger pendant decorated with flowers and with blue and green enamel ornaments (open on rear side). Ornament consists of droplet-like shapes ("boteh" or paisley) adorned with gemstones and glass beads. Suspended from the bottom are chains with pendants, set or inlaid with coral beads and turquoise stones.
Ornaments such as these were part of a combined set that included head and chest ornaments (pectorals) worn by women in the Xorazm (Khorezm) region of Uzbekistan. The term "shokila" relates both to this specific head ornament and to the entire set of ornaments.
Approx. 17X12 cm. Minor blemishes.
