The book was printed anonymously, yet the author's name is alluded to in the title of the work and in the riddle on verso of the title page.
The author, R. Noach son of R. Avraham Lipschitz (d. 1797 shortly after the Gaon of Vilna and was buried close to him), father-in-law of R. Avraham son of the Gaon of Vilna and prominent Torah scholar and kabbalist in Vilna.

Seven leaves (fourteen pages), homilies for Shavuot, Purim, Rosh Hashana, Shabbat HaGadol and Parashat HaChodesh, handwritten by Rebbe Tzvi Hirsh Friedman Rabbi of Liska (Olaszliszka). [Liska], 1863-1867.
Seven leaves handwritten by the author, Rebbe Tzvi Hirsh, with his emendations and deletions in the body of the text. Most of these homilies were published after the passing of the author in his book HaYashar VehaTov (Munkacs, 1880), after being edited. These are the original homilies, as they were recorded by the author, with textual variations compared to the printed version (see foreword to Ach Pri Tevuah, by the publisher R. Ze'ev Wolf, grandson of the author, who explains how he edited and corrected the original text, with the consent of his grandfather). Several passages in this manuscript were presumably never published.

Letter from Rebbe Yisrael Friedman of Chortkov. Vienna, Iyar 1924.
Written by a scribe, with the handwritten signature of the Rebbe: "Yisrael son of R. David Moshe".
In this letter, addressed to one of his Chassidim in the United States, the rebbe thanks for the money he sent as wedding gift for his granddaughter, and blesses him with an abundance of life, good health, blessing, success and plentiful livelihood, with fulfillment of all his wishes.
Rebbe Yisrael Friedman of Chortkov (1854-1933), grandson of Rebbe Yisrael of Ruzhin and prominent leader of Orthodox Jewry in the generation preceding the Holocaust.
