Sheet music which served the renowned cantor Yossele Rosenblatt, with his handwritten inscriptions and signatures.
• Sheet music for the song "Ad Hena Azaranu Rachameycha" (from the "Nishmat Kol Chai" prayer). Two pages, handwritten in pencil. The song title on the first page handwritten by Rosenblatt, with his signature (in English). The music notes may have also been handwritten by Rosenblatt.
• Two leaves of sheet music for "VeAf Hu Haya Mitkaven" (part of the Yom Kippur prayers) for two different voices (Bass and Melody), with a transliteration of the Hebrew text into Latin characters. Titles handwritten and signed by Rosenblatt at the top of each leaf.
The renowned cantor Yossele Rosenblatt (1882-1933) was one of the greatest cantors of all time, contributing greatly to shaping the world of Jewish Chazanut. In 1906, he began serving as chief cantor (Oberkantor) in Hamburg, at which point his fame began to spread. He held this position until his immigration to the United States in 1912.
