מהדורה ביבליופילית, עותק ממוספר 164, מתוך מהדורה בת 350 עותקים (בסך הכול ראו אור 375 עותקים).
גבריאלה ד'אנונציו (1863-1938), משורר, מחזאי, עיתונאי וקצין צבא איטלקי. נודע ביצירתו הספרותית מזרם הדקדנס בימי מלחמת העולם הראשונה ולאחריה. כתביו שילבו מוטיבים מהסימבוליזם צרפתי והאסתטיציזם הבריטי; נודע באישיותו הצבעונית.
במלחמת העולם הראשונה התנדב לשירות כטיס (והוא בן מעל 50) והפך לדמות מופת לאומית, במיוחד בעקבות פעולות נועזות שביצע לצד יחידת העילית "ארדיטי.
בשנת 1919, כתגובה להחלטה שהתקבלה בוועידת השלום בפריז להוציא את העיר פיומה (Fiume) מרשותה של איטליה, עמד בראש כוח גדול שהשתלט על העיר והקים את " ממלכת קרנארו האיטלקית" – ישות מדינית קצרת ימים ובעלת מאפיינים פרוטו-פשיסטיים, שבה מינה את עצמו לתואר "דוצ'ה". אף שמעולם לא הזדהה כפשיסט, רעיונותיו והאסתטיקה שיצר השפיעו רבות על מוסוליני ועל הפשיזם האיטלקי, וגם שימשו מקור השראה לתנועות סוציאליסטיות ולראשית ההתנגדות לפשיזם.
