A dozen pins and badges which belonged to a Jewish soldier in the British Army [1940s].
1. Hat-badge of Royal Fusiliers.
A badge designed as a circle with rising flames. The motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" [May he be shamed who thinks badly] appears on the rim.
2-12. Pins, hat badges and fabric badges of the Royal Engineers Force: * Hat badge with the monogram "GR VI" surrounded by the motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" and a wreath of leaves. A crown appears on top of the badge and the title "Royal Engineers" on the bottom. * Four round pins (different) with the monogram "GE" [Garrison Engineer] in the center. * Four identity-pins inscribed "Garrison engineer". * Two fabric badges - "Garrison Engineer".
