Parchment Ketubah – Gibraltar, 1907
Parchment ketubah, recording the marriage of the groom David son of Moshe Abécassis with the bride Esther daughter of Moshe Chasan. Gibraltar, Nissan 1907. Arched hoof-like frame, adorned with vividly colored floral patterns (possibly paint was added or reinforced at a later time). The word Chai is enlarged in the center of the ketubah. 35X43 cm. Fair-good condition. Many creases and folding marks. Dampstains and paint smears.
