Brown Ceremonial Dress – Ottoman Empire
Exquisite Dress. Ottoman Empire, [turn of 19th-20th century]. Brown velvet, golden-threads embroidery on cardboard, linen lining. The robe is embroidered densely in a dominant vegetal pattern of twigs and flowers. Around the front neckline appears a geometric pattern consisting of semi-circles with an ornamentation of sequins in the center. Length: 140 cm, maximum width: 140 cm. Weight: 2 Kg. Good-fair condition. Mending of attachments of sleeve to robe. Wear to lining. Embroidery in good condition.
