Passover Seder Plate – Morocco, 1936

Passover Seder plate (“Tzinia DiFisach” – “Passover Tray”). Morocco, [1936]. Hammered and engraved copper. Features various adornments in center of dish: flowers, Stars of David with the word Zion, a Torah crown, Tablets of Law with the inscription “Two Tablets”. “Three matzot” is inscribed at the top; at the bottom “Ke’ara”; and on the edges: “Mo’adim Le’Simcha, Chagim U’Zmanim Le’Sasson, Next Year in Jerusalem…” and the year the dish was produced: 5696 – 1936. The dish symbols are arranged according to the custom of the Ari. Diameter: 52.5 cm.
