Collection of letters concerning the "Bibliography of the Hebrew Book" project, 1964-1965.
The mission of the "Bibliography of the Hebrew Book" project was to document each and every book published in Hebrew and in Jewish languages (Yiddish, Ladino, Jewish-Arabic etc) from the first Hebrew incunabula in ca. 1475 until 1960.
The collection includes: • Letter from Gershom Scholem (typewritten, hand signed with handwritten corrections), addressed to Avraham Shisha Halevy. • A letter and memorandum concerning the above venture from Avraham Shisha Halevy to Prof. Scholem. • Three short letters to Prof. Scholem, from N. Ben Menachem (not signed). • Letter to Prof. Scholem from Moshe Gordon (director of "Bialik Institute" publishing and management-member of the Bibliography project). • Outline of the report of Prof. Scholems about the progress of the Hebrew Catalogue.
Size varies, good condition.
