Volume containing 23 issues of a satiric Jewish periodical "Schlemiel" which was published in Berlin during the years 1903-1906 and was resumed in 1919-1920.
The issues include poems and texts by Else Lasker-Schiller, Sholem Aleichem, Uriel Birenbaum, Max Yungman and others, accompanied by numerous humoristic illustrations by the artist Menachem Birenbaum as well as illustrations by Uriel Birenbaum, Herman Struck, Jacob Steinhardt and others. VII, 18-322, [2] pp, (pp 1-17 the first issue – missing). Volume 24 cm. Fair-good condition. Torn binding. Front cover detached, detached leaves, stains.
