Jewish Customs and Ceremonies – Early Postcards

Twenty three postcards with photos and illustrations of Jewish customs and ceremonies. East Europe, Austria and Germany, 1899 till 1910 (mostly of 1900-1905).
An interesting collection portraying a rich world of Jewish customs and liturgical ceremonies related to the cycle of life and the Jewish calendar, as well expressed in the works of painters such as Moritz Oppenheim, Hermann Junker and other artists of the 19th cent. One postcard is addressed to "Mr. K.L. [Kadish Yehuda Leib] Silman (Beit Feingold)/Dr. Rupin for I. Feldman Jaffa" with a handwritten greeting: "Many, many Mazal Tov greetings to you and to your descendants and to their descendants and let us say Amen! I was told that the offer was only "half accepted", namely 300 P' per year. For the better!". All of the postcards are undivided, except for two. Nine cards have not been used. Condition varies.
