Rabbi Raphael David Saban (1877-1961), a great scholar of Constantinople (Istanbul), exceptional genius of Halacha and aggada. Served in various rabbinic positions from the age of 20. In 1953, he was appointed as Chacham Bashi – head of the Rabbis of the Turkish Kingdom.
