Letter by Harav HaCharif – Rabbi Rachamim Yoseph Franko
A letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Rachamim Yoseph Franko, Rabbi of Hebron. "The blessed month of Nissan 1898. Sent to Amsterdam to the management of Pkidim VeAmarkalim "officers and supervisors and administrators of the Holy Land". A receipt for money received "from Sir Yitzchak". Signed "Rachamim Yoseph Franko" – Harav Hacharif.
Rabbi Rachamim Yosef Franko was born in Rodos in 1835, immigrated to Jerusalem in 1868 and served as member of the Beit Din of Rabbi Ya'akov Shaul Elyashar. In 1878, he was appointed Chief Rabbi of Hebron, died in 1901, and was succeeded in the rabbinate by the Sde Chemed.
