Chanukah lamp. Vienna, 1866-1890.
Silver, repoussé, embossed and engraved (marked with Austro-Hungarian standard mark, in use from 1866, Viennese standard mark "A", and maker's mark "VC" = Vincenz Czokally, active 1860-1890).
Small, high-quality lamp. Crown decoration at top of back side, and a pair of erect lions holding the Tablets of the Law (high relief) at center. Two large floral decorations at edges. Row of oil fonts on raised platform at front, with recesses for oil dripping. Shamash (removable), located at edge of back side.
Height: 19.5 cm. Width: 20.5 cm. Depth: 6 cm. Overall good condition. Light warping and minute fractures.
