Pair of Torah Finials – India

Pair of Torah finials. [India, possibly Bombay (today Mumbai), early 20th century.
Cast silver (unmarked).
Small, heavy, pear-shaped Torah finials, surmounted by spherical ornaments. Supported on thick, stout shafts, each adorned with two thick rings. Eight rings attached to body of each finial; long chains, with bells at their ends, are suspended from each of these rings.

Height: 14 cm, 15.5 cm. Maximal width: 7.5 cm. Overall good condition. Slight warping. One ring flattened inward toward the body of the finial.
