Pair of Torah finials. [North Africa, possibly Algeria, early 20th century].
Silver, cast, pierced, and engraved (apparently unmarked).
Torah finials with tall, slim, hexagonal bodies tapering upward toward a pointy upper tip. Bodies surmounted by shallow domes from which tall, conical ornaments project upward. Supported on tall, cylindrical shafts, slightly widening downward toward bases. Adorned with pierced vegetal patterns. Each side of the body is ornamented with a "window" in shape of horseshoe arch. Each finial is set with six large, delicate hooks, from which lengthy chains dangle, with bells suspended from their ends.
Height: 45.5 cm. Maximal width: 10.5 cm. Overall good condition. Slight warping and minor fractures. Old soldering repairs. Slight corrosion.
