Collection of Albums – Photographs of the Holy Land and Jerusalem – Late 19th Century

Six photograph albums depicting sites, landscapes and inhabitants of Palestine, Jerusalem and its environs:

1. Neil's Photographs of the Holy Land, the Needed Handbook of the Bible. Philadelphia: Henry Neil, [1893]. At end of volume, a folding plate with eight prints.
2. The Holy Land Photographed, the Needed Handbook of the Bible. Chicago and Philadelphia: Globe Bible Publishing Co., [1894].
3. The Land of Christ Photographed, album with 160 photographs of sites and inhabitants of the Holy Land. Chicago: M. A. Donohue & Co., [1895].
4-5. Souvenir de Jérusalem, two albums containing 30 photogravure prints after photographs by Bonfils – one copy in black-and-white, with captions in four languages in the margins of each print; the other copy with colored prints, without captions. Leipzig: Dr. Trenkler & Co., [1910].
6. Jerusalem, large album in olivewood binding, with 30 colored photochrome prints, titled in three languages in the margins. [Ca. late 19th century]. On the front cover, appears a carved Jerusalem Cross; on the back cover, the words "ירושלם" and "Jerusalem" printed. Both covers inlaid with miniature pieces of wood in different colors.
