Description of the travels of George Sandys through the Ottoman Empire, Egypt, Palestine (Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Judean Hills, and more), Italy and its surrounding islands. With engraved title page, three full-page engraved plates, and twenty-six additional engravings integrated in the text, including: map of the Temple Mount and Solomon's Temple, Mount of Olives, the road to Bethlehem, interior views of churches and architectural floorplans, and more.
George Sandys (1577-1644), a British traveler and poet. This work, first published in 1615, is considered one of the most important travel books of the period.
