Letter of Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Brooklyn, New York, 8th Tamuz 1951.
Typewritten on the Rebbe's official stationery, with his signature:
"M.Schneerson"; with words added by hand.
The letter was sent a few months after the Rebbe assumed leadership of Chabad, to R. Yitzchak Levi, promising him to mention him at the gravesite of his father-in-law the Rayatz, and asking him for updates on his personal welfare and that of certain of his extended family and friends, adding a booklet printed for the Chag HaGeulah of 12th and 13th Tamuz, and a public-private letter.
The Rebbe added by hand corrections of words and names of some of the recipient's family members, concluding with the blessing:
"For real welfare, physically and spiritually – M.Schneerson".
This letter has not been published in the Lubavitcher Rebbe's Igrot Kodesh.
