Five Silver Bedouin Anklets
Five massive silver Bedouin or Romani anklets. Palestine or the vicinity (Egypt?), [first decades of 20th century].
Silver, cast and engraved; granulation.
1-2. Pair of large silver anklets. [Palestine or the vicinity]. With striped pattern and granulation. Each anklet with twelve dangling rings that jingle in response to walking motion. As such, anklets also serve as protective amulets. Approx. 16X1.5 cm (including rings). Few blemishes. Missing stones (?).
3-5. Three silver anklets. [Palestine or Egypt]. Two anklets with pattern of stripes and dots. Third anklet undecorated (with maker's mark). Averaging 10X1 cm.
